 |
All of them are a fun way of promoting the idea of practising in rural and remote Australia! The NRHSN is also able to represent viewpoints on current rural and remote health issues affecting students to key organisations and political parties.
Importantly, being an NRHSN member should be about developing skills, making great friends and having a fantastic time while learning more about the opportunities available to a health student with a passion for rural and remote health in Australia!
Conferences of National Significance (CoNS) funding
|
The NRHSN offers funding for students to attend Conferences of National Significance. The NRHSN provides an opportunity for health students to form contacts with other students throughout Australia interested in rural and remote health, share their positive and other experiences, talk about their course, placements and encourage others to consider the employment and lifestyle opportunities available in rural and remote Australia.
Each member who attends a CoNS writes an article about their experience and how it will be of value to them in the future.

Indigenous Community Festivals
 |
There are several organisations who stage indigenous community festivals throughout the year, which NRHSN students are involved in. These include:
- Wakakirri Outback Program
- Vibe Alive
- Kullarri NAIDOC Festival "The Next Step"
- Music Outback Foundation
- TAFE NSW North Coast Institute in NSW

Scholarships module for rural and remote health
|
The NRHSN has developed a Scholarships module which is available on the NRHSN website. This means that Rural Health Club members can be kept up to date with what scholarships are available to assist with study, living expenses and rural placements.

NRHSN student forums and conferences
 |
NRHSN Student Conferences provide an excellent forum to meet other NRHSN members from across Australia in a conference focused on increasing the awareness of students interested in rural health, allowing for presentations from peak bodies and rural practitioners, developing key objectives and progressing NRHSN objectives. The 2008 National University Rural Health Conference (NURHC), held in Launceston on 3-5 April was a great success and attended by over 250 enthusiastic NRHSN Members.
