Activities

During the Rural High School Visit the NRHSN students will undertake many hands-on activities with you to help you get a feel for and better understanding of health careers and education.

Some possible activities include:

Ice-breaker questions

This activity helps to start off the session in a fun way.

Problem Based Learning Cases

This activity gives you the opportunity to problem solve.

Thickened Fluids

This activity helps you to hear what happens in the body when you drink certain liquids.

Muscle Stimulation

This activity gives you an opportunity to see how muscles in the body work.

Plastering

This is a fun activity where you get a chance to have a finger or a hand plastered just like if you had broken or fractured a bone in your body. It also gives you an opportunity to ask the Rural Health Club students about health professions and tertiary studies.

Scrubs

This activity is a fun dress-up game where you get to mingle and find out more about all different health professions.

Gutsy Gus

This activity helps you to discover how much you know about the human body.

Stethoscopes

This activity gives you an opportunity to play around with a stethoscope and to see how it works.

Roleplay

This activity gives you a chance to be creative, to problem solve and helps you to realise how many different health career roles there are and how they work together as part of a team.
